Journalists and Press Agents participate in training at CCOPAB

From 19 to 23 June, members of the Media attended the Course for Journalists in Conflict Areas carried by the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese). The goal of the Course is to train journalists and press agents to fulfill their duties in armed conflict areas or in the United Nations missions. The Course also had the support of the Brazilian Army Social Communication Center (CComSEx, acronym in Portuguese) and had the participation of thirty-eight media members from all parts of Brazil.

Workshop debates on the work of REBRAPAZ

On June 13, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) and the Brazilian Network of Research on Peace Operations (REBRAPAZ, acronym in Portuguese) held a workshop on the ongoing research studies on Peace Operations. The meeting was held at CCOPAB’s facilities in Rio de Janeiro and it covered topics such as: protection of civilians; proportional use of force; capacities and performances in the United Nations Peace Operations; and Women, Peace and Security.

CCOPAB trains 46 military and Police personnel for United Nations Peace Missions

On June 9, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) finished the third and last phase of the Experts on Mission Course. The aim of the training was to capacitate military personnel to serve as Military Observers and Staff Officers and the police components to be part of the United Nations Police (UNPOL).

CCOPAB supports the training of the Battalion for UNPCRS

The main goal of the UN Pre-deployment Advanced Field Exercise is to capacitate the Infantry Battalion in order to be deployed by the United Nations Peacekeeping Capabilities Readiness System (UNPCRS) at any part of the world, where it might be needed. The Exercise started on June 05 and it will end on June 09 in the city of Juiz de Fora-MG.

CCOPAB celebrates International Day of UN Peacekeepers

On May 29, International Day of UN Peacekeepers, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) celebrated and paid tribute to military, police and civilian personnel that accomplished the noble task of keeping the peace throughout the world.
