Uganda – From 8 to 12 May, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) participated in the pilot project of the Integrated Training Service / Department of Peacekeeping Operations (ITS/DPKO). The aim of the project was to train instructors on the new Protection of Civilians Course as well as to enable them to share the updated content in their own countries.
On 16 May 2017, the Minister of the High Military Court, Péricles Aurélio Lima de Queiroz, visited the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese). The aim of the visit was to understand the overarching mission of CCOPAB and the ways in which the Center facilitates it, such as the ones regarding the training of military, police and civilian personnel for peace missions.
On May 10, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) had the visit of Captain (navy) Kevin Fleming, Defense Attaché of the United Kingdom in Brazil. The purpose of the visit was to promote more exchange of information as well as to broaden the cooperation bonds between Brazil and the United Kingdom and go over the current challenges of peace missions.
From April 30 to May 05, the members of the Brazilian Engineering Company (BRAENGCOY) went through the UN Advanced Pre-deployment Field Exercise (EAOP, acronym in Portuguese), which is the last training prior to deployment to the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH). The Exercise was carried out by the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB), in Aquidauana - Mato Grosso do Sul.
On April 30th, the Brazilian Army personnel, who will compose the 26th Brazilian Engineering Company (BRAENGCOY), started the UN Pre-deployment Field Exercise. This is the last training before their deployment in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH). The Exercise was held in the city of Aquidauana, Mato Grosso do Sul.
The Advanced Pre-deployment Field Exercise, which was held by the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) from April 17 to 28 in Caçapava-São Paulo, evaluated the operational efficiency of the 26th Brazilian Battalion. The Exercise simulated situations that routinely occur in Haiti.
