CCOPAB trains 46 military and Police personnel for United Nations Peace Missions

On June 9, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) finished the third and last phase of the Experts on Mission Course. The aim of the training was to capacitate military personnel to serve as Military Observers and Staff Officers and the police components to be part of the United Nations Police (UNPOL).

The Course was entirely carried out in the English language and it lasted 4 weeks. It covered theoretical and practical activities that may occur during the missions to which the students will be designated. Besides the large experience of its own members, CCOPAB counted on the support of partner institutions, such as: the Fire Department and the Military Police, both from the state of Rio de Janeiro; Military Brigade from Rio Grande do Sul; Land Operations Command and the Brazilian Air Force. It is also worthy to mention the support given by Captain Keddie, from the British Army and Dr. Karenine Cunha, journalist and professor at the Brazilian Army Center for Personnel Studies (CEP, acronym in Portuguese).
