Colonel MÁRCIO CARNEIRO BARBOSA, Army Corps of Engineers
COL MÁRCIO CARNEIRO BARBOSA was born in Fortaleza-CE on 25 December 1969. He is the son of Mr. Mauro Martiniano Barbosa and Mrs. Maria Alzira Carneiro Barbosa.
He joined the Brazilian Army on 22 February 1988 and was declared Officer Candidate of the Corps of Engineers on 11 November 1991. He was promoted to his current rank on 30 April 2015.
Prior to the command of CCOPAB, COL C. BARBOSA was the Advisor of the Military Adviser at the Permanent Mission of Brazil to the United Nations (USA).
In addition to his regular career studies, he took the following courses: Engineering Equipment Course, at the Specialized Training School (1994); Master’s on Military Operations, at the Advanced School for Captains (1999); Demining Course, at the Specialized Training School (2003); Command and General Staff Course, at the Army Command and General Staff School (2008); Logistics and National Mobilization, at the War College (2011); MBA in Logistics Management, at Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV); and another MBA in Foreign Trade, at UNISUL.
Ranks and main positions during his career: Lieutenant at the 8th Construction Engineering Bn (Santarém/PA) - 1995/1996; Captain at the 1st Construction Engineering Bn (Caicó-RN) - 2000/2002; MARMINCA Ops Officer - 2003; Instructor at the Army Command and General Staff School (Rio de Janeiro/RJ) - 2009-2011 and 2013-2014; Liaison Officer and Military Observer in UNMIT (East Timor) - 2012; Commander of the 1st Construction Engineering Bn (Caicó-RN) - 2015/2016 and Intelligence Officer at the 7th Mtz inf Bde (Natal/RN) - 2017.
COL C. BARBOSA is married to Mrs. Anna Gabryella Markan Barbosa and they have two children - Leonardo and Milla.
