Between November 19 and 30, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) took part in the 2018 operational exercise CRUZEX, which took place in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. CRUZEX is a multinational exercise carried out by the Brazilian Air Force and it aims at the joint training of conflict scenarios.
On November 29, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) supported the training of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) by carrying out the practical activities of the Course on Safe and Secure Approaches in Field Environments (SSAFE). The certification ceremony was held at CCOPAB’s facilities and followed by a cocktail.
From December 3 to 7, two officers of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) participated of the Staff Officer Course at the Argentine Peace Joint Training Center (CAECOPAZ, acronym in Spanish), in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Lieutenant Commander (Marines) Álvaro Tadeu Ribeiro and Captain Felipe Vaz de Freitas took part in the course as CCOPAB’s representatives.
From November 26 to 30, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) along with Igarapé Institute carried out the Training of Civilians to Work in Unstable Environments (EPCAAI, acronym in Portuguese). The aim was to sensitize participants of the importance of the training for civilians who will be deployed to work in unstable areas. The training focuses on teaching attendees the basic knowledge regarding individual safety and protection.
From November 26 to 30, for the first time a Mobile Training Team from the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) carried out the Course on UN Peace Operations Logistics and Reimbursement overseas. The Course was held at the facilities of the Navy Secretary, in Mexico City, and counted on the support of the Defense, Navy, Army and Air Force Attaché in Mexico.
In October, Captain Valdetaro, instructor of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), participated as instructor of the German United Nations Experts on Mission Course, held at the German United Nations Training Center, in Hammelburg-Germany.
