On November 23, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) ended the second semester’s edition of the Military Experts on Mission Course. The closing ceremony was headed by Major General Kleber Nunes de Vasconcellos, Chief of the Aviation and General Inspector of the Military Police/Land Operations Command. The students were awarded certificates of completion and a badge for having attended a course at CCOPAB.
Rio de Janeiro – On November 22, General José Luiz Dias Freitas, Commander of the Land Operations Command (COTer, acronym in Portuguese) visited the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese). General Freitas was accompanied by the following officers: Lieutenant General Antonio Manoel de Barros, Commander of the 1st Army Division; Major General Kleber Nunes de Vasconcellos, Chief of the Peace Missions, Aviation and Military Police General Inspector of the Land Operations Command; Major General Algacir Antônio Polsin, Chief of the Employment of the Land Force and his assistant Colonel Rocha Lima.
Rio de Janeiro - On November 21, The United Kingdom Ambassador in Brazil, Mr. Vijay Rangarajan, visited the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese). His delegation was composed of Mr. Simon Wood, UK General Consul in Rio de Janeiro; Captain (Navy) Kevin Fleming, Military Defense Attaché of the United Kingdom in Brazil; Mrs. Caitlin Smith, Second Secretary and Mrs. Cecília Bijos, Assistant of the Military Defense Attaché.
Rio de Janeiro- On November 14, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) was present at the Annual Foreign Relations Conference, also known as Model United Nations, which was held at the Brazilian Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine (IBMR, acronym in Portuguese). Lieutenant Commander (Marines) Álvaro Tadeu Ribeiro attended the opening ceremony of the event as a representative of CCOPAB. The conference counted on the presence of Mrs. Giulia Scortegagna, Administrative General Secretary and of Professor Leonardo Braga, Coordinator of Foreign Relations Course at IBMR.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On 20 November, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center, Sérgio Vieira de Mello Center, welcomed COL Ronnie Nilsson and MAJ Peter Sterner, commander and instructor of the Swedish Armed Forces International Centre (SWEDINT), respectively. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the bonds between both centers.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - The Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sérgio Vieira de Mello Center keeps supporting Operation Acolhida. On 7 November, CCOPAB sent 1LT Wander, 1SGT (Marine) Mamede and 3SGT Jonathas to Roraima. As part of a regular rotation, this is the fourth team CCOPAB sends to the area of operation.
