On the fourth day, April 18, the first instruction was about HIV/AIDS and UN Peacekeeping Operations. After that, the students gave instructions on Respect for Diversity and Safety and Security. At the end of the morning, there was a discussion on the impressions and suggestions for improvements and innovations to be made in the UN training material.
No terceiro dia de curso, 17 de abril, os alunos iniciaram as atividades com apresentações de temas do material de treinamento de Preparação para Missões de Paz da ONU (Core Pre-deployment Training Material - CPTM). Durante as instruções foram apresentados os temas: Trabalhando com Parceiros da Missão; Direito Internacional relevante para Missões de Paz; Proteção de Direitos Humanos nas Missões de Paz da ONU; Mulheres, Paz e Segurança e Proteção de Crianças; Conduta e Disciplina; Consequências de Desvio de Conduta e Abuso e Exploração Sexual.
During the second day, April 16, the students started the activities with lectures on instruction and assessment techniques. After that, they presented the subjects from the Core Pre-Deployment Training Material (CPTM) for UN Peacekeeping Missions. Among the topics, the following units were seen: Introduction to UN Peacekeeping, Fundamental Principles of UN Peacekeeping, Establishment and Operationalization of Security Council Mandates in UN Peacekeeping Operations and the Functioning of UN Peacekeeping Operations. Ending the day, the students worked in groups.
The Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center hosted the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Elisabeth Rice. The Ambassador and her committee were welcomed by the Commander of CCOPAB, COL Luiz Fernando Estorilho Baganha.
