Brazil and the UN organize a Training of Trainers Course for Staff Officers in Peacekeeping Missions
From 15 to 26 of April, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (acronym in Portuguese: CCOPAB) and the United Nations' Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO/UN) will hold a Training of Trainers Course for Staff Officers in Peacekeeping Missions. The course will take place in the facilities of General Ernani Ayrosa Center in Itaipava – Petrópolis.
The course aims at the participants' familiarization with the new training materials for Staff Officers in Peacekeeping Missions developed by DPKO's Integrated Training Service (ITS). It will count on the participation of representatives from Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, United States of America, Guatemala, Paraguay and Uruguay.
This will be the first time this course is taking in the Americas. Choosing Brazil as the host country of the course reflects the excellent performance this country shows in UN peacekeeping missions, especially the one held in (Mission des Nations Unies pour la Stabilisation en Haiti - MINUSTAH) and Lebanon (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon - UNIFIL).
