CCOPAB supports EsACosAAe
On July 02, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) answered the Request of Instruction Cooperation (PCI) from the Coastal and Anti-aircraft Artillery School (EsACosAAe) and hosted 30 officers who are taking a course at that school. CCOPAB's Commander Colonel Baganha personally hosted them and after that the apprentices were introduced to the mission and work developed at the Center, as well as the courses offered at CCOPAB. The officers were able to know a little more about the participation of Brazilian military personnel in peacekeeping missions nowadays. At that opportunity they also visited the facilities of Sergio Vieira de Mello Cultural Center and the one where the Combat Simulator (Training System for the Use of Legal Force) is installed.
On June 26, the Command of Ground Operations (COTER) hosted a Meeting of Partners for Peace at the auditorium of the Brazilian Army Police Battalion in Brasília. The Commander of the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) Colonel Baganha and members of the Center participated in the Meeting.
On June 24, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) started off the Course on Negotiation in Peacekeeping Operations. The course lasts one week and its objective is to enable the military personnel to carry out negotiation at tactical and operational levels, advise the Command or the higher echelon on decision-making situations and know and support, if necessary, the different organizations of the United Nations, of the host country, of non-governmental organizations (NGO), which act in Peacekeeping Operations environment.
Inside the Experts on Mission Course (EPMP), happening since May 27 and ending on June 21, the military police officers who will work as United Nations Police (UNPOL) are on the field operating in different situations (exercises). Among the incidents (simulations), the one below can be highlighted:
From June 13 to 21, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) will be visited by a member of the Integrated Training Service of the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations (ITS/DPKO), Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Asare.
