CCOPAB takes part in the UN Military Contingent Officers Course

fotoFrom September 2 to 20, Lieutenant Commander Wagner Vinicius, assistant of the Doctrine Division of the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB), takes part in the UN Military Contingent Officers Course in New Delhi, India. The course dynamics allows the students to acquire knowledge from instructors who had experience in various UN missions, such as the missions in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sierra Leone and Lebanon.

Fourth day of the 2013/2 CIMIC course

cimic-4dia-05This Thursday, the students began their activities with a lecture by Professor Marina Motta regarding "Protection of Civilians" and "Civil-Military Coordination in the Integrated Mission of East Timor". After that, they had an instruction on "Communication and Expression, Media Relations and Media Training" by 1st Lieutenant Quéli, and a practical session, when the students role-played reporters.

Third day of the 2013/2 CIMIC course

3diacimic1This Wednesday morning, the students had the following instructions: "The Argentinean CIMIC Experience in PKO", delivered by Major Torrengo (Argentina); "CIMIC at MINUSTAH and at MONUSCO", by PhD Renata Giovannini; and "Media Relations", by Mr. Manoel de Almeida and journalist Damaris Giuliana, from UNIC Rio.

Second day of the 2013/2 CIMIC course

cimic1diaOn the second day of the course, the students had the following instructions: OCHA (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) and UNCMCoord (United Nations Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination), delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Albino; UN CIMIC (United Nations Civil-Military Cooperation), delivered by Captain Bione; and at the end of the morning, U9 MINUSTAH (Humanitarian and Civil Affairs Office in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti), also delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Albino.

Beginning of the CIMIC Course - 2013/2

cimic-1dia-01On September 09, the Course on Civil Military Coordination in PKO started. The students were welcomed by CCOPAB Deputy Commander, LTC SALOMÃO TAVARES DA SILVA, who gave a lecture.

There are 42 students taking part in the course, in which 12 are civilians, 28 are military personnel of the Brazilian Armed Forces and 02 are military personnel from friendly nations (one from Argentina and one from Chile).
