CCOPAB participates in the III United Nations Military Experts on Mission in Ecuador

 From August 26 to September 6, the Chief of the Doctrine Division in CCOPAB Commander (Brazilian Marines) Marcelo da Costa Reis participated as an instructor in the III United Nations Military Experts on Mission (III UNMEM), a course held in the facilities of the Unidad Escuela Misiones de Paz Del Ecuador (UEMPE, acronym in Spanish) in the city of Quito, Ecuador.

The course takes five weeks and aims at specializing officers from Ecuador's and Friendly Nations' armed forces for the functions of Military Observer, Liaison Officer and Staff Officer in UN Peacekeeping Missions.

Through the first week of III UNMEM, CDR (Brazilian Marines) Costa Reis gave instructions regarding Conduct and Discipline, Respect for Diversity and Protection and Security in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, as well as those subjects collected from the Core Pre-deployment Training Materials (CPTM) which gather the basic content

demanded from all the personnel (civilians, military or police) deployed in UN Peacekeeping Missions.

During the second week, Commander Costa Reis conducted the units concerning Interview Techniques; Basic Techniques of Verification and Investigation; and the process of Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) of combatants and former combatants, subjects from the Specialized Training Modules (STM) aimed at the specific training of the United Nations Military Experts on Mission (UNMEM).
