Rio de Janeiro – The main goal of the Field Exercise that was conducted from July 17 to 21 was to train the Military Police Peace Force Company, which is one of the Brazilian Army components that are available for the United Nations Peacekeeping Capabilities Readiness System – UNPCRS.
Training Brazilian and Friendly Nations military personnel to be deployed as Monitors or Supervisors in Humanitarian Demining missions under the aegis of international organizations was the goal of the Course which the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) carried out. After a five week period of theoretical and practical activities, the 2017 Course on Humanitarian Demining finished on July 14.
Between July 10 and 14, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) carried out the Commander and Staff Course for the Maritime Task Force of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL/MTF).
The International Workshop on the Integrated Protection of Civilians (IPoC), which was conducted by the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), finished on July 7. The event, which lasted five days, was held at the Brazilian War College and presented the work of several United Nations agencies, international Non-Governmental Organizations as well as the experiences of military personnel in unstable environments.
The opening ceremony of the international workshop on Integrated Protection of Civilians (IPoC), conducted by the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), took place on July 3 in the lecture hall of the Brazilian War College, in Urca, Rio de Janeiro. The event, which aims at discussing the new syllabus for the 2018 Course on Protection of Civilians, will be held until July 7.
On 18 June, Major Derré and 1st Sergeant L. Batista, members of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), ran the 42.195 meters of the 15th Rio de Janeiro International Marathon.
