CCOPAB sends military personnel to Operation ACOLHIDA
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - The Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sérgio Vieira de Mello Center keeps supporting Operation Acolhida. On 7 November, CCOPAB sent 1LT Wander, 1SGT (Marine) Mamede and 3SGT Jonathas to Roraima. As part of a regular rotation, this is the fourth team CCOPAB sends to the area of operation. The team integrates the Roraima Humanitarian Logistics Task Force (FT Log Hum RR, acronym in Portuguese), whose mission is to support Venezuelan migrants crossing into Brazil, in the city of Pacaraima.
Members of CCOPAB are to stay in the area of operations for 45 days as part of the Civil Affairs Cell in the FT Log Hum RR (D-9). Amongst several missions related to Civil-military coordination, the team has meetings with UNHCR and Engineers without Borders, in which a project to build a community kitchen at a church is under discussion.
