Rio de Janeiro, RJ – 04 November, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, received Senior Officers of the Command and General Staff Course from Paraguay and Guatemala. The purpose of the visit was to know CCOPAB, as well as its mission, organization and the courses given at the Center.
Buenos Aires (ARG) - From October 16 to 18, MAJ Christiane Alves de Lima, from the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, participated in the 9th International Seminar on Women, Peace and Security in Peace Operations. The event took place at the Argentinian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CAECOPAZ, acronym in Spanish), in Campo de Mayo.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – 04 October, MAJ Christiane Lima, from the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, held a lecture at the 3rd Peace Operation Course for Women. The event took place at the Naval Peace Operations Center, located at the Admiral Sylvio de Camargo Training Center of the Brazilian Navy.
Santiago (CHILE) – From October 1 to 22, CPT Wander Wallace Dias Ferreira Cruz, from the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center - participated as instructor of the United Nations Military Observers Course (UNMOC).
Rio de Janeiro, RJ – On 24 October, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, received a visit from the UK Ministry of Defence delegation, which was composed of LT COL Liz Hutchison (Royal Air Force); LT COL Rachel Grimes (British Army) and CPT Aleesha Mitchell (British Royal Navy). Kevin Fleming, UK Defense Attaché in Brazil, and Cecilia Bijos, Attaché's assistant, were also present. The purpose of the visit was to exchange experiences on the participation of women in peace operations under the aegis of the United Nations.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – From October 14th to 18 th, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese), Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, received the following students from the Army Health School (EsSEx, acronym in Portuguese): 1st LT Nastassja Stine Mendes de Souza, the 1st LT Elaine Soares Barbosa and the 1st LT Ana Letícia Castro Salomone de Oliveira. This activity aims to provide them with the opportunity to perform the function of subordinate health officer in a Unit, according to their Military Qualifications.
