On October 18, the personnel from the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) gave their farewell to their Deputy Commander Lieutenant Colonel (Brazilian Air Force) Salomão Pereira da Silva. The farewell ceremony was held at the auditorium of Sergio Vieira de Mello Cultural Facilities and counted on the presentation of the music band from the Air Force Base of Campo dos Afonsos.
The Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) hosted on October 17 three officers from the Colombian National Army. The Colombian officers were welcomed by CCOPAB's Commanders Colonel Baganha, who showed them an institutional presentation regarding the Center. After that, Lieutenant Commander (Marines) Adler presented them the activities developed in the Center, especially those related to Humanitarian Demining.
No dia 7 de outubro, no Centro de Instrução de Gericinó (CIG) os alunos do EPMP realizaram diversas atividades relativas à condução e manutenção de veículos das Nações Unidas em Operações de Paz. Na ocasião, foram ensinados e realizados diversos procedimentos, tais como: Direção Defensiva, condução de veículos com tração 4X4, estacionamento ("baliza"), adaptação à mão inglesa, troca de pneus e manutenção de 1º escalão.
Continuing the Experts on Mission Course (EPMP), on September 30 the students were given instructions regarding techniques and standard procedures of radio communications as done in UN Missions. On October 1, the students practiced the theory learned by performing message transmissions in a fictitious environment. Both the instruction and the practiced were coordinated by CPT (United Kingdom) Chloe Ingold.
The Experts on Mission Course (EPMP), which takes place at the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB), concluded its activities scheduled for the first week (from September 23 to 27). During that week, instructions concerning CPTM (Core Pre Deployment Training Material) were delivered to the students –all future peace mission members must know this material, whether they are civilian, military or police personnel.
The last CIMIC Course held at the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) enabled one of the students, Captain Tibério, to participate in the Tactical Civil Military Cooperation Course held at the Partnership for Peace Training Center in Ankara/Turkey from September 23 to October 4, 2013.
