From October 21 to November 1, Captain (Air Force) Márcio Simião de Souza took part in the United Nations Civil Military Coordination Training of Trainers Course (UN-CIMIC ToT), at the Regional Training & Conference Centre, Entebbe, Uganda. The aim of the objective was to diffuse the UN-CIMIC specialized training material.
In continuation of the PKO Advanced Drills (EAOP) of the Brazilian Battalion of the 19th Contingent, several simulated activities were held in the cities of Nova Odessa and Sumaré in the area of Campinas/SP throughout the day. Under CCOPAB’s coordination, there were exercises such as: meeting of leaders, joint patrol, accidents with multiple victims and encountering of dead bodies.
The students of the Joint Staff Course of the War College visited the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center on October 28, 2013. Lieutenant Colonel Salomão delivered an institutional lecture; followed by Commander Costa Reis, Chief of the Doctrine Division, who talked about the Brazilian participation in Peace Operations.
In continuation of the PKO Advanced Drills (EAOP), several simulated activities were held in the cities of Nova Odessa and Sumaré in the area of Campinas/SP.
In the morning there were exercises on Civil and Military Cooperation (CIMIC), joint patrol, vehicle collision, a visit by the Haitian Prime Minister, pedestrian collision, among others. In the afternoon, more activities were held, the most distinguished of which are: a motorcycle accident, military personnel repatriation, a visit by foreign reporters, escort and withdrawal of money from a local bank.
On October 28, the activities of the PKO Advanced Drills (EAOP) of the 19th Brazilian Battalion (BRABAT), which will be deployed to Haiti in December, started.
Throughout the day, BRABAT went through simulations such as: joint patrol with checkpoint, demonstrations, arrival of foreign delegations, encountering dead bodies, vehicle accidents, meetings with local leaders and medical assistance.
As part of the activities scheduled for the PKO Advanced Drills (EAOP), on October 28 BRAENGCOY had an overnight simulated exercise aiming at training the troops for situations of natural disasters and their consequences.
BRAENGCOY executed the emergency procedures needed for medical assistance, transportation of casualties and rescue of the population in isolated areas.
