On 12 January, the pedagogical brush-up course (ESTAP, acronym in Portuguese) started at CCOPAB; it aims at updating and providing guidance regarding didatics and teaching methodology for 2015. CCOPAB Commander, Colonel José Ricardo Vendramin Nunes, delivered his lecture about the importance of the pedagogical brush-up course. After that, the course officialy started.
On 12 and 13 December, CPT ISRAEL, translator/interpreter and instructor to CCOPAB, participated as a guest lecturer of the Professional Translators Symposium IV (PROFT, acronym in Portuguese), at Anhanguera University, in the city of São Paulo-SP. CPT Israel, with his lecture entitled "Translation and Interpretation in Peace Missions", helped the audience of about 250 people think over the challenges to overcome when providing translation/interpretation services in extreme conditions.
Luanda (ANGOLA). On 12 December, the Mobile Training Team (MTT), deployed in Luanda, successfully accomplished their objective of providing the Introductory Course on Mine Action in UN Peace Operations for 22 Angolan students (Military personnel, Police and Civilians), within the period of 8 to 12 December.
On 16 December, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Carlos Alberto de Moraes Cavalcanti, CCOPAB Doctrine Advisor, defended, in the presence of a Board of Doctoral Thesis in Political Science, his thesis entitled:"The Ministry of Defense and the Brazilian Army: the construction of a relationship" at the Institute of Strategical Studies of Fluminense Federal University.
Luanda (ANGOLA).On the morning of 9 December, CCOPAB MTT went on with the instructions of the Introductory Course on Mine Actions in UN Peace Operations. The course was carried out at the National Institute of Demining (INAD), in the vicinity of Luanda, Angola.
