Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – The 2014 Course for Journalists in Conflict Areas ended in the afternoon of July 18, after five intense days of instructions during the day and at night.
The first Journalist in Conflict Areas Course in 2014 started this Monday afternoon at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Course (CCOPAB).
The opening of the course was held by Major General Otávio Santana do Rêgo Barros who spoke to an audience of 30 journalists from different types of media from several regions of Brazil.
On July 10th, CCOPAB received the visit of the Project Manager of Frontier Monitoring and Cybernetics Defense Integrated System, Lieutenant General João Roberto de Oliveira, from the Army Projects Office. The purpose of the visit was to know the practices of CCOPAB when performing joint activities involving military personnel from the Brazilian Navy, Army and Air Force in the preparation of military contingents for peace missions, focusing on potential contributions for the planning of the creation of the future Cybernetics Defense Command, which is idealized to act in a joint manner as well.
On June 26, the new privates went on a guided tour to the Monument to the Dead of World War II and to Fort Copacabana.
