On March 08, celebrating the 205th Marines Anniversary, a ceremony was held on the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center's parade ground. The Navy's newsletter referring to the event was read during the parade.
The joining ceremony of the 2013 new recruits was held on March 4. Thirty-one new soldiers from Rio de Janeiro and its surroundings will perform the compulsory military service. The Commander of the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center addressed to the soldiers and their families, emphasizing the importance of joining the Brazilian Army and the noble mission which they carry out from now on.
Eight years ago, on the first day of March, the Brazilian Army Peacekeeping Operations Training Center [CIOpPaz, acronym in Portuguese] was created by means of the ordinance 090, 23 February 2005, of the Brazilian Army Commander.
As the participation of Brazil in this type of operation has increased, the Ministry of Defense decided to join the efforts of the three Brazilian Armed Forces and the Auxiliary Forces and, thus, establish the facilities of the so-called CIOpPaz as the base for the creation of a joint center,
In the morning of March 01, last day of EPCSUPel, BRABAT and Marines military personnel took part in a videoconference with the 17th Brazilian Contingent in Haiti. At the same time, BRAENGCOY military personnel had instructions on Security of the Construction Site and Engineering Reconnaissance.
