IMG 3807okOn August 6, the second day of the Course for Military Translators and Interpreters (ETIMil), the apprentices appointed as English and French translators and interpreters were divided into two different groups. Those English translators and interpreters appointees began their activities with Lieutenant Colonel Carla Beatriz concerning "Technical Translation Workshop".

CCOPAB carries out the 2013-2 Course for Military Translators and Interpreters

IMG 2643okFrom 5 to 9 of August, 2013, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) will carry out the Course for Military Translators and Interpreters (ETIMil) – in-class phase, for those military personnel who have volunteered for these functions in a PKO mission and have proven proficiency in French or English. The course aims at preparing military personnel as future interpreters and translators in the Brazilian Battalion and Brazilian Engineering Company deployed in Haiti, and also at enhancing the following affective attributes: adaptability, self-confidence, comradeship, coherence, cooperation, creativity, intellectual discipline, emotional balance, initiative, organization and responsibility.

IMG 7905okFrom July 31 to August 2, the Brazilian Ministry of Defense (Brasília-DF) started off the First Phase of the Course for Unit Commanders and Staff (EPCOEM) that will compose the 19th Brazilian Contingent (19 CONTBRAS) of the United Nations Mission for the Stabilization in Haiti (MINUSTAH, acronym in French). The 19th Brazilian Contingent is made up by the Brazilian Battalion, the Brazilian Engineering Company and the Marines Company (BRABAT/BRAENGCOY/Marines COY 19), and the course aims at presenting instructions collected from the UN's Core Pre-deployment Training Material (CPTM).

Closing of the Preparation Course for Interviews of Brazilian candidates to military posts at DPKO

IMG 7738okOn July 31, the third and last day of the Preparation Course for Interviews of Brazilian Candidates to military posts at the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) held at the facilities of the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB), the military personnel continued with the activities carried out on the previous day and were interviewed in similar conditions of those that happen after candidates are included in DPKO's Short List.
