CCOPAB takes part in the Basic Notions of Hygiene and Food Handling Course
Rio de Janeiro, RJ - On July 23, military personnel of the Supply Section from the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center - took part in the Basic Notions of Hygiene and Food Handling Course at Subsecretariat of Surveillance, Sanitary Supervision and Zoonoses Control (SUBVISA-SMS, acronym in Portuguese) from Rio de Janeiro city.
The course was based on the Booklet of good practice for food services, written by the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA, acronym in Portuguese). Besides following the demand from the Food Safety Inspection Programme (PASA, acronym in Portuguese), from Supply Department, the course enabled the military personnel to work in food-related establishments in the future. They studied basic notions of hygiene, equipments and facilities, food and water infections and the need for correct disposal of waste, among others.
