Army German Officer visits CCOPAB
On March 25 and 26, Lieutenant Colonel Ansgar Glatzel, from the German Army, visited the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB).
CCOPAB Deputy Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Fábio Augusto Grineberg Domingues, presented CCOPAB's mission and organizational structure, the strength of each Armed Force in the Center, a brief view of the courses offered by the center as well as future expectations. Afterwards, the German officer visited the center's facilities.
On March 24, the Ops Officer of the Land Operations Command, Major General Glaucio Lucas Alves, visited the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB). He was welcomed by CCOPAB Commander, Colonel José Ricardo Vendramin Nunes.
On March 17, the French Army Commander, General Bertrand Ract Madoux, visited the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB).
Between March 10 and 14, the Civil-Military Coordination Course (CIMIC) was carried out at Sergio Vieira de Mello Cultural Facility. The aim of the course was to prepare the military personnel of the 20th Brazilian Contingent in Haiti. They are to be deployed in May of 2014 to carry out activities which are directly and indirectly connected to the coordination between the civil and military components of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH).
On 10 and 11 March, CPT Flávio Henrique, CPT Ana Cardoso and CPT Israel - members of the Division of Translators and Interpreters – provided the service of simultaneous interpretation, English < > Portuguese, for the training given by Mr. Sven and Mr. Peter, representatives of the Swedish SAAB Group, to military personnel from the Army Training Assessment Center [CAADEx, acronym in Portuguese].
On March 07, 2014, there was the joining ceremony of the 2014 Variable Contingent. The 40 new soldiers from Rio and surrounding cities will do mandatory military service. The 1st Army Division Commander addressed a few words to the new soldiers and their families. The Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center's Commander was also present.
