End of the first week of EAOP

EAOP semana01 006Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On the morning of 17 April, there was the partial After Action Review (AAR) of the UN pre-deployment advanced field exercise (EAOP) which is being carried out in the guarrison of Vila Militar, RJ. The exercise is to happen from 13 to 24 April.

The AAR, executed by the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB), focused on analyzing and exploring the best practices of the fractions, in the squad and platoon levels.

The Angolan Army Commander visits CCOPAB

visita cmt ex angola 01Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On 16 April, the Angolan Army Commander, General Lúcio Gonçalves do Amaral, visited the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB), where he was welcomed by Colonel José Ricardo Vendramin Nunes, CCOAPB Commander.

Colonel Vendramin provided the General and his delegation with information about the mission of the Center, its organizational structure, a brief view of the courses offered and the expectations of the military unit. Right after that, the delegation visited the shooting simulator and Sérgio Vieira de Mello Cultural Facility.

Pre-deployment advanced maritime exercise in the Ocean Patrol Vessel Apa

EAOP-BRABAT22-napaoc-03From 26 March to 10 April, the pre-deployment advanced maritime exercise was carried out in the Ocean Patrol Vessel (NaPaOc, acronym in Portuguese) Apa - a ship designated to be the flagship of the Maritime Task Force in UNIFIL.

Several instructions and lectures were given on the ship by Lieutenant Commander Marcelo, CCOPAB instructor. Operational activities, Damage control exercises in different levels, shooting exercises, and maritime interdiction operations (MIO) with no approach or having a cooperative approach were carried out.

UN pre-deployment advanced field exercise begins

EAOP-BRABAT22-1dia-01Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On the morning of 13 April, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) started the UN pre-deployment advanced field exercise (EAOP, acronym in Portuguese) to prepare the troops of the Brazilian Battalion (BRABAT) as part of the 22nd Brazilian contingent in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti. MG Henrique Martins Nolasco Sobrinho, Commander of the 9th Motorized Infantry Brigade and coordinator of the battalion preparation, was present at the opening ceremony.

CCOPAB takes part in the High-Level Independent Panel on UN Peace Operations

IMG 20150331 100034617 HDROn 31 October 2014, the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, established a High-Level Independent Panel on UN Peace Operations, which will make a comprehensive assessment of the state of UN peace operations today, and the emerging needs of the future.
From 29 to 31 March 2015, the High-Level Independent Panel on UN Peace Operations was held in Salvador-BA. Col Vendramin, commander of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB), was the representative of that military unit delivering a lecture on the preparation and training for Peacekeeping Operations.
