Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - From 09 to 13 March, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) carried out the first 2015 edition of the Civil-Military Coordination Course.
The course aims at preparing military personnel to carry out activities related to the system of civil affairs, focusing on UN Civil-Military Coordination. Besides, the course receives officers from friendly nations who are to take part in peace missions, as well as reresentatives of universities or any other interested organization.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On the morning of 12 March, the Assistant Secretary of Mairiporã for institutional relations, Mr. Cleriston Valle, the Special Projects Assistant, Mr. Eduardo Luz, the Secretary for Tourism, Mr. Fernando Rachas Ribeiro and the Music Producer, Mr, Celso Diniz, accompanied by Col Pedro Aurélio de Pessôa, former CCOPAB commander (2009-2011), visited Sergio Vieira de Mello Cultural Facility.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - the first edition of the course on logistics and reimbursement in UN PKOs for the year 2015 was carried out, from 23 February to 06 March, at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center, focusing on the preparation of the Brazilian Contingent 22 (CONTBRAS) for the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH). The course aimed at enabling the personnel to perform their administrative, logistical, and reimbursement tasks in UN PKOs.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On the morning of 06 March, the US Embassy Military Political Attaché in Brasília, Mr. Dan Wartko and Ms. Nhu Vu, Vice Consul for Political Affairs, were welcomed by Colonel José Ricardo Vendramin Nunes, Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center Commander.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On the morning of 02 March, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) received 54 youngsters for the selection process to be in the compulsory military service 2015.
Col Vendramin, CCOPAB commander, welcomed the youngsters and listened to the their expectations when he asked questions about the Army. "I wish I could serve my country and improve as a citizen.", enthusiastically answered one young candidate.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - From 02 to 13 February, CCOPAB carried out the Subunit Commanders and Platoon Leaders Course (EPCOSUPEL, acronym in Portuguese) for CONTBRAS 22 to be deployed in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti.The aim of this course is to enable captains and lieutenants to carry their tasks out as Subunit commanders and Platoon leaders of the Brazilian Battalion (BRABAT), the Brazilian Engineering Company (BRAENGCOY) and the Brazilian Marine Corps (BRAMAR).
