On July 07, 2011, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center hosted a Committee from the Board of Technical Military Education (acronym in Portuguese: DETMil) for the School Supervision Visit. The committee was headed by the Sub director of Technical Military Education COL Pedrozo. On that occasion, LCDR (Marines) Paulo André, posted at the Doctrine Division of the Center, made a presentation concerning the activities inherent to the Center.
From 21 to 24 of June, 2011, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (acronym in Portuguese: CCOPAB) hosted the second edition of the Survival Course in Hostile Environment for employees of Vale Company.
The course aimed mainly at teaching basic survival techniques in several types of environment where Vale has employees developing its projects.
The Advanced Pre Deployment Drill (EAOP) of the 15th Contingent of the PKF Engineering Company took place from June 18 to 23 in Itajubá – MG. It was a strength of 400 people, among whom were military, civilian and police personnel. The EAOP was the highlight of the preparation of the PKF Engineering Coy which will leave for Haiti in the second semester this year. The exercise was coordinated by the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center and by the Engineering and Construction Department.
On June 21, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center received the illustrious visit of Minister Norberto Moretti – Chief of the Division of International Peace and Security from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Together with Col Pedro Aurélio de Pessôa, CCOPAB Commander, Mr. Moretti had the opportunity to visit the future cultural facility “Sérgio Vieira de Mello” as well as closely follow the progress of the constructions in the Center. After that, Col Pessôa gave an institutional lecture to Minister Moretti and to the entourage of the educational system Anhanguera.
Aiming at integrating and entertaining the staff from the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB), and as recognition of the dedication and professionalism for the accomplishment of the mission, a recreational event was carried out at the 2nd Marines Battalion, Humaitá Battalion, Ilha do Governador-RJ, on 17 June 2011. It started with a beach volleyball game followed by a soccer match and a bingo with lots of gifts to be raffled.
On June 11, 1865, fearless Brazilian people led one of the most important deeds of the Brazilian history: the victory of the Battle of Riachuelo, That battle was decisive for the favorable end of the War of the Triple Alliance.
In order to celebrate the Brazilian Navy´s Data Magna for the 146th Anniversary of the Battle of Riachuelo, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (acronym in Portuguese: CCOPAB) accomplished a ceremony on June 13 which also celebrated the chevron and epaulette exchange of military personnel of the Navy stationed at CCOPAB.
