Preparatory Course for Journalists 2012/2 – 1st Day

estagio-jornalistas-1dia-01The second Preparatory Course for Journalists in Conflict Areas in 2012 started on 23 of July with the presence of CCOPAB's Commander Colonel Luiz Fernando Estorilho Baganha. It gathered journalists from several media and aimed at preparing those professionals by means of practical and theoretical classes through the five-day duration of the course.

CCOPAB’s Commander visited CECOPAC in Chile

visita ao ceopac-03The Commander of the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center joined a committee of the Brazilian Ministry of Defense in a visit to CECOPAC, in Santiago, the capital city of Chile, from 11 to 13 of July. The visit aimed at knowing the present implementation of Cruz del Sur Peacekeeping Operations Joint Combined Force.

During that event, the committee also participated in a ceremony in honor to the anniversary of the creation of CECOPAC.

Initial Meeting for the Preparation of BRABAT 2/18

reuniao-preparo-brabatt-2-18 02On 18 and 19 of July 2012, The Headquarters of the Military Command of the Southeastern Region of Brazil, which is placed in the city of São Paulo-SP, hosted the initial meeting for the preparation of BRABAT 2/18. This event aimed at starting the necessary coordination for the constitution of the Contingent, which will embrace military personnel from the 11th Light Infantry Brigade according to the directives issued by the Brazilian Command of Land Operations (acronym in Portuguese: COTer).

Officers from CCOPAB participated in a course of International Law and Human Rights

CBDICADH-02 Lieutenant Colonel Cavalcanti and Lieutenant Colonel Mander, who serve at the Doctrine Division in CCOPAB, made lectures during the Basic Course of International Law in Armed Conflicts and Human Rights (acronym in Portuguese: CBDICADH) which was carried out on 02 and 03 of July at the Center of Specialized Instruction of the Brazilian Air Force at the Base of Campo dos Afonsos. The lectures concerned Humanitarian International Law and Rules of Engagement in Peacekeeping Operations as advocated by the United Nations.

Apprentice officers from the Brazilian Anti-aircraft and Coastal Artillery School visited CCOPAB

of-esacosaae-03On June 26, 2012, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center hosted thirty apprentice officers from the Brazilian Anti-aircraft and Coastal Artillery School.

During the event, Infantry Major AMILTON FERNANDO BARBOSA MOLETA, Instructor from the Doctrine Division of the Center, made an institutional lecture at the "Novo Horizonte" Room in the facilities of "Pavilhão Integração". After that, the visitors attended a brief demonstration of the Training System for the Use of Legal Force with the Combat Simulator.

CCOPAB participated in ALCOPAZ’s 4th Assembly

4-assembleia-alcopaz-equadorAs a member of a committee of representatives of the Ministry of Defense, of the Brazilian Navy's General Staff Officers, of the Brazilian Army's General Staff Officers, of the Brazilian Marines' General Command and of the Brazilian Command of Land Operations, Commander (Marines) Leite, CCOPAB's Deputy Commander, participated in the 4th General Assembly of the Latin American Association of Peacekeeping Operations Training Centers (acronym in Portuguese: ALCOPAZ). During that event he presented the other country members the activities CCOPAB is in charge of for the preparation of the Brazilian military personnel.
