On August 22, the Sound of Peace Band of the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) presented itself in the Army Historical Archives (AHEx), in Duque de Caxias Palace, as part of the celebrations of the Army Day. On August 16, the Sound of Peace Big Band presented itself during the luncheon for members of the Confraria dos Camaradas de Cavaliaria - 3C, a fraternity, in the Military Club of the Military Compound (CMVM).
On the tenth and last day of the Course for Subunit and Platoon Commanders (EPCSUPEL), the apprentices attended lectures and meetings at Sergio Vieira de Mello Cultural Facility and Room Haiti. In the end of the morning, after two weeks of intense theoretical and practical activities, CCOPAB held the closing ceremony of the course at the meeting room of the 57th Motorized Infantry Battalion, presided by Commander (Marines) Costa Reis, Chief of the Doctrine Division of CCOPAB.
On August 22, the Course for Subunit and Platoon Commanders (EPCSUPEL) held an interdisciplinary practice for the members of BRABAT 19 and of the Marines Company. The workshops dealt with the procedures for checkpoints, occupation of strong points, meetings with community leaders, protests, conduct with dead bodies and the wounded, on foot patrols and conduct with the press. The workshops were held at Instruction the Instruction Field of Gericinó (CIG).
The 5th General Assembly of the Latin American Association of Peacekeeping Operations Training Centers (ALCOPAZ) was started on August 20. ALCOPAZ is an initiative of the countries that compound the Latin American region in order to establish mechanisms for the interchange of experiences regarding training and empowerment of human resources for the participation in Peacekeeping Operations.
On August 21, BRAENGCOY's apprentices of the Course for Subunit and Platoon Commanders (EPCSUPEL) attended these lectures: "Conducts with UNPOL and HNP" by Major Robson (Military Police of the State of Pernambuco); "PT Sections – Suggestion of Drills" by LTC Duarte; "Occupation of a Strong Point and Static Point" by Lieutenant Valdetaro; "Engineering Reconnaissance" by Lieutenant Eschiletti; "Security at Work Sites" by Lieutenant Eschiletti; and "Unblocking of Roads and Streets" by Sergeant Lyra.
On August 20, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) hosted the Undersecretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Coordenador for Help and Emergency, Baroness Valerie Amos (UN OCHA) and the Director of the United Nations Information Center for Brazil (UNIC-Rio) Mr. Giancarlo Summa his committee.
