Foreign researchers visit CCOPAB

Between February 19 and 21, an entourage of foreign researchers, from different European higher education institutions, interested in Peace Operations, visited the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (CCOPAB) and observed the Course for Subunit and Platoon Commanders (EPCOSUPEL).

The entourage, composed of the Brazilian Dr. Vinicius Mariano de Carvalho, from Aarhus University (Denmark); of the Danish Dr. Henrik Breitenbauch, Dr. Anders Henriksen, Dr. Henrik Vigh and Dr. Kristian Lauta, from the Kopenhagen University (Denmark); of the French Ms. Mathilde Chatin and of the Danish Dr. Christoph Harigh, from King's College London (United Kingdom), was welcomed by CCOPAB Commander, Colonel José Ricardo Vendramin Nunes.

Colonel Vendramin presented CCOPAB's mission and organizational structure, the strength of each Armed Force in the Center, a brief view of the courses as well as future expectations to the researchers. Right after that, the entourage observed the activities of EPCOSUPEL, such as: shooting simulation, mechanized and foot patrols, cordon, search and investment operations, security and protection of non-military personnel and negotiation.

On the last day, February 21, the group took part in a video conference with BRABAT -19th Contingent - which is in Haiti.
