CCOPAB instructor takes part in the United Nations Military Observer Course in Switzerland

Stans (Switzerland) - On 16 June, 2022, the Swiss United Nations Military Observer Course (SUNMOC) received as a guest instructor, Major (Brazilian Air Force) Bruno Becker, from the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese). The Officer arrived early in Switzerland to get ready for the beginning of the course.

The activity, carried out at the Swiss Armed Forces International Command - SWISSINT, lasted for 23 days; having not only the Brazilian officer as an instructor, but also military officers from Canada, Finland, Germany, Hungary, The Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland.

During the course, Major Becker delivered instructions on the Core Pre-deployment Training Material (CPTM) and the Specialized Training Materials (STM), pillars that guide the training developed by the United Nations towards troops to be deployed to peacekeeping operations. Apart from the Swiss military personnel, there were students from Egypt, Gambia, Georgia, Guinea, Holland, Iran, Kazakhstan, Morocco, and Pakistan.

The participation of the Brazilian officer is aligned with CCOPAB’s vision of the future of being an international reference in promoting excellence in the training of human resources for peace operations and humanitarian demining missions.
