CCOPAB contributes towards the education of udergraduates from the International Relations Institute/ Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio)

Rio de Janeiro, RJ. On 18 November 2021, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, a Brazilian Army Educational Organization supervised by the Department of Military Technical Education, contributed towards the education of undergraduates from the International Relations Institute/ Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-Rio).

The activity was coordinated by Dr. Ricardo Oliveira dos Santos, a Professor at PUC-Rio and Educational Coordinator of the Brazilian Peace Operations Research Network (REBRAPAZ).

On that occasion, CCOPAB commander delivered an institutional lecture with the following goals:
- to characterize Brazil as a traditional Troop and Police Contributing Country in UN Peacekeeping Operations;
- to present the possibilities and capabilities of CCOPAB (as a Training Center and Research Institution) in the context of UN Peacekeeping Operations; and
- to strengthen CCOPAB's academic bonds with PUC-Rio (REBRAPAZ).

The Institute of International Relations (IRI/PUC-Rio) is a center of excellence, in the field of International Relations, in Brazil. For over 30 years of existence, the Institute has pioneered research on Brazil's international relations, political and economic changes in Latin America, and changes in the world order.

Its graduate program qualifies masters and doctors who work at various universities in the country and abroad, and its undergraduate course was ranked among the top 5 in the country and the best in Rio de Janeiro.

The IRI faculty is highly specialized in the different thematic areas of International Relations and has extensive experience and international qualification. Nowadays, the Institute is internationally taken as a reference in teaching and research in the area, and maintains a wide range of partnerships with important universities abroad.
