On last November 10, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center -, a Brazilian Army Teaching Establishment, subordinate to the Department of Military Technical Education, received a delegation from the Superior Education Command of the Guatemalan Army (COSEDE, acronym in Spanish), headed by Colonel Ronald Eduardo Morales Pérez. The delegation from the Friendly Nation was welcomed by the Commander and instructors of CCOPAB.
The delegation, composed of forty-two members, participated in a military ceremony in honor of the Brazilian fallen in peace missions under the aegis of International Organizations (UN and OAS), especially those who lost their lives during the earthquake in Haiti on January 12, 2010.
The activity also included an institutional lecture on the Brazilian participation in UN Peacekeeping Operations and the teaching activities held by Sergio Vieira de Mello Center during the current year. The delegation also visited the main facilities used by CCOPAB in the teaching-learning process, especially the French language laboratory.
COSEDE is a high-level military education institution aimed at elaborating and implementing policies and strategies to contribute to the fulfillment of the Military Doctrine and Educational Philosophy of the Guatemalan Army at all levels, including education, training, and professionalization of officers in order to have a modern army that responds to the challenges ahead (https://www.mindef.mil.gt/educacion/cosede/cosede_vision.html).
At the end of the activity, Colone Morales signed the CCOPAB’s Book of Honor, followed by the farewells from CCOPAB’s Commander and Officers.
