CCOPAB contributes towards UN Police Training Architecture Programme

Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - From 16 to 18 March, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center - took part in the online seminar on UN Police Training Architecture Programme. One hundred and two participants from 45 countries attended the online event.

The aforementioned programme, launched in 2019 under the responsibility of the UN Department of Peace Operations, will still be in force in 2021, as a joint effort from the UN Police Division, the Integrated Training Service (ITS), UN Programmes, Agencies and Funds, as well as TCCs and PCCs. The main objective of the programme is to come up with continuous preparation (performance and efficiency) for UNPOLs deployed to UN missions.

After inviting Member States and carrying out curriculum analysis, the UN Police Division selected 1LT Elaine Pereira MELERE, from Paraná State Police and 1LT Rodolfo ESPERIDIÃO de Melo, from Alagoas State Police, both of them current CCOPAB instructors.

1LT Melere was designated to take part in the Curriculum Development Group/CDG 03 (monitoring, mentoring and capacity-building) and 1LT Esperidião was assigned to Curriculum Development Group/CDG 07 (SOP elaboration and competency evaluation).
