CCOPAB carries out the PKF Commanders and Joint Staff Course (EPCOEM)

Cascavel (PR) - As per directives from the Land Ops Command (COTER, acronym in Portuguese), the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (Sergio Vieira de Mello Center), by means of a Mobile Training Team (MTT), re-activated the preparation of contingents with the PKF Commanders and Joint Staff Course (EPCOEM), from 01 to 04 December.

This edition of EPCOEM was the beginning of the training of a Mechanized Infantry Bn (PKF), from the 15 Mechanized Infantry Brigade (Cascavel-PR) and a Eng Coy (PKF), from the 6 Combat Eng Bn (São Gabriel-RS), for the United Nations Peacekeeping Capability Readiness System.

The activity was divided into two phases: the first was a one-week e-learning phase and the second was a one-week on-site phase at the facilities of the 15 Mec Inf Bde (Cascavel-PR). During the activity, students had lessons from the UN DPO Core Pre-Deployment Training Material.

Twenty officers - 17 from the Brazilian Army, 02 from the Brazilian Navy and 01 from the Brazilian Air Force - attended the course.

Representatives from the Armed Forces Joint Staff (MoD), the Land Ops Command (COTER) and the Engineering and Construction Department (DEC) were present during the training.

At the end, within the context of PKFs, representatives from COTER, DEC and CCOPAB verified in loco the activities to be carried out during the Subunit Commanders and Platoon Leaders Course (EPCOSUPEL, acronym in Portuguese) set for the begining of 2021.
