CCOPAB carries out symbolic ceremony to celebrate its 10th anniversary
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On 15 June, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) carried out a parade to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
CCOPAB commander, Colonel Marcio Carneiro Barbosa, speaking to the members of the Center, highlighted the contributions of CCOPAB along the past ten years to project Brazil in peace missions under the aegis of international organizations. The Center was created on 15 June 2010, by means of Ordnance Nr 952, from the Ministry of Defense, integrating military personnel of the Armed Forces, Police Forces as well as military personnel from friendly nations in order to prepare today’s peacekeepers to face potential challenges and threats in peace missions.
The mission of the Center is to provide training to military, police and civilian personnel, from Brazil or friendly nations, to be deployed to peace missions and humanitarian demining missions, always seeking to be an international reference of excellence, when it comes to the preparation of human resources.
