CCOPAB takes part in the training of Operação Acolhida
Santa Maria (RS) - From June 23 to 28, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) - Sergio Vieira de Mello Center - participated in the preparation of the 6th contingent of the Humanitarian Logistics Task Force - Reinforced Contingent, which will act at Acolhida Operation.
In the facilities of the 29th Armored Infantry Battalion (BIB, acronym in Portuguese) in Santa Maria, the Center carried out the activities of instruction and presentation with simulations of the routine management of the shelters at Boa Vista and Pacaraima, as well as the screening and information posts for Venezuelan immigrants.
Approximately 500 military personnel from the Southern Military Command took part in the training and will be part of the Battleship Contingent. It is also noteworthy the participation of 24 (twenty-four) International Relations students from the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), who participated in the simulation of scenarios that will be faced by the troops when the mission is accomplished. The CCOPAB team was composed by TC Ramirez, Cap Lucas, Cap Henrique, Cap Wander, 1st Sgt Alan, 2nd Sgt Eduardo.
Operation Acolhida carries out the work of receiving, identifying and welcoming Venezuelans who arrive in Brazil via the border with the state of Roraima. The Armed Forces (Navy, Army and Air Force) support the operation with actions in infrastructure, transportation, health and administration.
