CCOPAB welcomes officers from SWEDINT
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On 20 November, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center, Sérgio Vieira de Mello Center, welcomed COL Ronnie Nilsson and MAJ Peter Sterner, commander and instructor of the Swedish Armed Forces International Centre (SWEDINT), respectively. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the bonds between both centers.
COL Machado - CCOPAB commander - and his staff welcomed the Swedish officers. The guests attended a lecture and took the opportunity to know more about the training activities for military personnel designated to peace missions. Then, they could visit some facilities and the Haiti Memorial - a monument honoring the victims of the 2010 earthquake in that country.
The Swedish officers also visited COL Ururahy Training Area (AICUr, acronym in Portuguese) where students of the Military Experts on Mission course were at two team sites, one for military personnel and the other for police personnel. At the end of the visit, the Swedish officers received a token and signed CCOPAB’s book of honour.
