CCOPAB starts out the first simulations of the UN Pre-deployment Advanced Field Exercise for BRABAT 26

Caçapava (SP) – On 18 April, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) delivered the introductory lecture on the Advanced Field Exercise and started out the simulations for the 26th PK Brazilian Battalion (BRABAT).

At the introductory lecture, there were the following authorities: Major General Mário Fernandes, Commander of the 12 Light Infantry Brigade (Airmobile) and coordinator of the preparation, Colonel Alexandre Oliveira Cantanhede Lago, Commander of BRABAT 26, and Colonel Carlos Augusto Ramires Teixeira, Commander of CCOPAB, who delivered the lecture, pointing out the Exercise Evaluation Guidelines.

In the afternoon, the Brazilian Battalion took part in the first simulations of the Advanced Field Exercise (EAOP, acronym in Portuguese), in which its members could apply their knowledge in order to be certified by the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center.

Local population collaborates with EAOP

Military personnel as well as civilians, working as role players, take part in the UN Pre-deployment Advanced Field Exercise (EAOP). Because of that support, representatives of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) went to Vale do Paraíba University (UNIVAP, acronym in Portuguese) and delivered a lecture to invite those who were interested.

The importance of the civilian participation is fundamental to increase the level of realism provided by the exercise scenarios. Fifty university students volunteered to support the exercise by acting side by side with military personnel during the simulations.
