CCOPAB carries out course for translators and interpreters
From 27 to 31 of March, the Course for Military Translators and Interpreters (ETMil, acronym in Portuguese) was held at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese). The Course aimed at capacitating military personnel to act as interpreters and translators in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH). The Course develops in its apprentices their intellectual capabilities, emotional control and their written and oral skills as it simulates the scenarios that are present in the daily missions in Haiti.
The Course comprised theoretical and practical activities of interpretation, such as: simultaneous, sentence by sentence and consecutive. Besides, the apprentices were given the opportunity to learn the basic principles of interpretation booth. The Course had the participation of thirteen attendees in order to act as translators and interpreters of English and other three of French.
