Sound of Peace Band participates in civilian events during the Advanced Drill for PKO

1Sound of Peace Band from the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (acronym in Portuguese: CCOPAB) had full agenda in the Advanced Drill for PKO in Caçapava – SP held from 05 to 12 of August, 2011. The band members participated in the events organized by SESC and SESI of the state of São Paulo, the latter of which counting with the special participation of one of the most important conductors and piano players in Brazil: Mr. João Carlos Martins. In that occasion, Colonel Pedro Aurélio Pessôa, the Commander of CCCOPAB, could present the conductor the projects which have music and sports as tools of social inclusion in environments of Multidimensional Peacekeeping Operations.

Course on Humanitarian Demining for International Monitors and Supervisors

DESMINAGEM_HUMANITÁRIAFrom 01 to 26 of August, 2011, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (acronym in Portuguese: CCOPAB) held the 2011 Course on Humanitarian Demining for International Monitors and Supervisors. CCOPAB is a military unit linked to the Brazilian Ministry of Defense and placed in the city of Rio de Janeiro; its mission is to support the preparation and training of military and police personnel, as well as civilians, from Brazil and friendly nations in peace and humanitarian demining missions.

CCOPAB participates in the Advanced Drill for PKO of BRABATT - 2/15

3Caçapava-SP. The Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center (acronym in Portuguese: CCOPAB) carried out the Advanced Drill for PKO of BRABATT 2/15 from 03 to 12 of August, 2011.

The exercise aims at assessing the selected personnel to compose BRABATT in planning and carrying out the tasks attributed by the Command of a Multidimensional Peace Force in its respective areas of responsibility (AOR).

Corrida do Soldado

DSC074674CCOPAB participated in the Corrida do Soldado held by the 1st Division of the Brazilian Army on August 23, 2011 as part of the celebration of the Week of the Soldier. The team that represented CCCOPAB was composed by the military personnel below.

One instructor from CCOPAB participates in training conducted by DPKO

One of the instructors from CCOPAB participated in the first training conducted by the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) together with other members of the various peacekeeping centers and personnel related to this area. The objective of the activity was to test the modules and training exercises concerning Civil Protection which had just been developed. The event occurred from 4 to 8 of July in the facilities of the Swedish Armed Forces International Centre (SWEDINT) placed in Stockholm, Sweden, with the participation of 23 students and 5 instructors who represented 22 different nationalities.

VISIT OF THE BOARD OF TECHNICAL MILITARY EDUCATION (acronym in Portuguese: DETMil)

DSC05665On July 07, 2011, the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center hosted a Committee from the Board of Technical Military Education (acronym in Portuguese: DETMil) for the School Supervision Visit. The committee was headed by the Sub director of Technical Military Education COL Pedrozo. On that occasion, LCDR (Marines) Paulo André, posted at the Doctrine Division of the Center, made a presentation concerning the activities inherent to the Center.
