EPSUPel Closing ceremony 2011/1

On March 4, in a solemn ceremony in CCOPAB, the Course for Platoon and Subunit Commanders (EPSUPEL 2011 / 1) was concluded. This Course lasted two weeks and aimed to prepare the assigned officers for the specific functions of Platoon and Subunit Commanders (EPSUPEL 2011/1).

Sixty-eight Brazilian Army officers and nine Brazilian Navy officers concluded the course.

On February 18, in a solemn ceremony in the auditorium of CCOPAB, the Course for Commander and Joint Staff was concluded. (EPCOEM 2011 / 1).

Besides CCOPAB Commander, COL Pedro Aurelio de Pessoa, CDR Alexandre Aballo Nunes, Deputy Commander, from the Brazilian Navy, LTC Carlos Socin, liaison officer from the Argentine Army, LTC Salomão Pereira da Silva, Chief of Doctrine, from the Brazilian Air Force composed the table of honor.

 

Variable Military Contingent Discharge in 2010

Foto do Pelotão AuxiliarOn January 7th, 2011, the ceremony of the discharge of the variable contingent of military personnel in 2010, took place at the Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center’s Peace Square. In this ceremony, fifteen soldiers of the Support Platoon were discharged of the army, and named as follows:

Candido Portinari panels exhibition took place from 22 to 30 December, 2010, at Rio de Janeiro Municipal Theater and counted on the presence of the Commander of Brazilian Peacekeeping Operations Joint Center, Mr. Colonel Pessôa, together with 3º Sergeant ALEXANDRE SÉRGIO of the Public Relations Division.

Between 1952 and 1956, Candido Portinari made the two last and greatest   murals, “War and Peace”, requested by the Brazilian government to grant the United Nations Secretariat, in New York.

Earthquake in Haiti - 01 year

haiti On January 12, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti. It caused serious structural damage to the city of Port-au-Prince as well as the casualty of more than 230,000 people.

Due to that huge natural disaster, 18 military personnel of the Army, 1 military policeman and 2 civilians, all of whom from Brazil, lost their lives in the struggle for world peace.
