CCOPAB carried out ETIMIL 2016.2
From 12 to 16 September, the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) carried out the Military Translators and Interpreters Course (ETIMIL - 2nd phase - on-site) in order to prepare the military personnel, who have proficiency in French and English, to work in the Infantry Battalion (BRABAT) and in the Engineering Company (BRAENGCOY).
The course also tries to point out the following skills of the affective domain: adaptability, self-confidence, camaraderie, coherence, cooperation, creativity, intellectual discipline, emotional balance, initiative, organization and responsibility.
During the first phase, the course was online and it addressed a review of the first and the foreign languages, the theoretical fundamentals of translation and interpretation studies, a translation practice, as well as, Computer Assisted Translation (CAT).
During the second phase, the military personnel took part in technical and practical instructions, simulating the situations and conditions they will face in Haiti.
