From March 14 to 19, in the city of Bruehl, Germany, there was the pilot course to revise the United Nations Core Pre-Deployment Training Materials (CPTM). The goal of the course was to familiarize peace operations' instructors from Member States with the revised material, to test and validate the content.
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) – On Friday, March 18, the ceremony to deliver the certificates represented the end of the first Civil-Military Coordination Course (CIMIC) of 2016, which is part of the preparation of the 24th Brazilian Contingent of the United Nations Mission Stabilization in Haiti.
On March 09, 2016, the first coordination meeting with CCOPAB's partner institutions was carried out. The main goal was to establish an Annual Working Plan focusing on common activities related to Peace Operations. As the main conclusion, the idea is to create a network of researchers composed of members from the following institutions: CCOPAB, USP (University of São Paulo - SP), Igarapé Institute, UFF (Fluminense Federal University – RJ), PUC (Pontifical University – RJ), UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) and Estácio de Sá University (RJ)
On March 10, 2016, Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Carlos Alberto de Moraes Cavalcanti, Doctrine Adviser at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB), gave the lecture "The importance of the Brazilian participation in Peace Operations" to the students of the Defense Course at the Brazilian War College (ESG).
On March 8, 2016, a delegation headed by the Chief of the Department of Engineering and Construction, General Oswaldo de Jesus Ferreira, visited CCOPAB. The aim of the visit was to know the infrastructure of the center, mainly, in what concerns the improvement of the facilities for the instructions and for the personnel.
On March 04, the ceremony of the 2016 privates enlistment was held at CCOPAB. Thirty-eight new privates from Rio de Janeiro and its metropolitan area will start their compulsory military service. Colonel Carlos Augusto Ramires Teixeira, CCOPAB Commander, presided the ceremony in which the families of the new privates were present. During the ceremony, it was possible to notice how proud the new privates were to begin this new phase of their lives in the Brazilian Army. Their families were also pleased to see them in the Army.
