CCOPAB delivers another edition of the Military Translators and Interpreters Course
Brasília (DF) - From 27 June to 01 July 2022, a Mobile Training Team from the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) went to the city of Brasília-DF, with the purpose of carrying out the Military Translators and Interpreters Course at the Brazilian Army Headquarters, in order to train military personnel to work as interpreters and translators in international activities.
The whole course lasted for five weeks: the first four weeks on an e-learning basis and the last week, on -site, at the Army HQ, covering theoretical and practical activities as simultaneous, sentence-by-sentence and consecutive interpretations, as well as practices on translation into English, Spanish and Portuguese.
In this edition, there were 13 military students: two representatives of the Permanent Executive Secretariat of the Conference of American Armies (SEPCEA), seven representatives of the Army General Staff (EME) and four representatives of other Army Sectorial Departments.
Lieutenant General Paulo Roberto Rodrigues Pimentel, Head of the Army International Affairs Office and Secretary-General of the Conference of American Armies officially opened the on-site phase and, at the end of the course, took part in the closing ceremony to deliver CCOPAB course patches to those students who completed the course.
