CCOPAB takes part in the UN Pre-Deployment Basic Field Exercise (EBOP) in the context of UNPCRS

Apucarana (PR) and Uberlandia (MG) - From 26 to 30 April and from 10 to 14 May 2021, as per the Directive from the Land Operations Command (COTER, acronym in Portuguese), the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center- Sergio Vieira de Mello Center, a Brazilian Army Educational Organization supervised by the Department of Military Technical Education took part in the UN Pre-Deployment Basic Field Exercise (EBOP), Coy level, in the garrisons of Apucarana (30 Mec Inf Bn) and Uberlandia (36 Mec Inf Bn), respectively.

The aim of EBOP was to contribute towards the training of the Mechanized Infantry Bn (PKF), from the 15 Mechanized Infantry Brigade (Cascavel-PR) at the service of the United Nations Peacekeeping Capability Readiness System (UNPCRS).

For two weeks, practical activities were carried out (Green Concept) by means of simulated exercises mainly coordinated by the Eastern Military Training Center (CA-Leste); it was an opportunity to evaluate tactics, techniques and procedures of the Subunits. It is essential to highlight the use of TESS (Tactical Engagement Simulation Sets), having laser beam transmitters and receivers; thus, providing a better training of evaluated fractions.

CCOPAB was then in charge of advising on and evaluating the Blue Concept (UN Mandate, PoC, IHL, Human Rights, Respect for Diversity and the like) so that troops could reach the standards required by the United Nations.

Within the scope of contingent training architecture, to COTER, EBOP is the follow-up phase of the Unit Commanders and Joint Staff Course (EPCOEM, acronym in Portuguese) and Subunit Commanders and Platoon Leaders Course (EPCOSUPEL, acronym in Portuguese).

677 troops (322 from 30 Mec Inf Bn and 355 from 36 Mec Inf Bn) participated in EBOP (Coy Level).
