CCOPAB sends a Mobile Training Team to Namibia

Windhoek (Namibia) - The Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB, acronym in Portuguese) sent a Mobile Training Team (MTT) to Namibia, an African friendly nation. The cooperation was from 14 to 23 September and was accomplished in two phases with 24 students, among whom there were captains and senior officers.

In the first phase, there was an Instructors’ Preparation Course for Peacekeeping Operations, where CCOPAB's personnel delivered instructions focusing on teaching methodologies. In the second phase, there was the Contingent Staff Officers Course. During the second phase, the students, now instructors, could put the techniques they learnt into practice, supervised by CCOPAB's instructors. Thus, new instructors can carry out training of their human resources in the preparation of national contingents autonomously.

The relevance of the cooperation was made evident in the closing ceremony, with the presence of Mr. Eduardo Carvalho, Brazilian Ambassador in the Republic of Namibia; Major General Wilbard Shikongo, Namibian Military Academy Commander; Captain Marcelo Appolinario Cerqueira, Military Attaché of Defense of Brazil in Namibia; and Lieutenant Colonel Williams Belentani Leme, Military Advisor at the Training and Education System of the Namibian Army.
