CCOPAB’s MTT ends Military Observers Course in Colombia

From June 20 to 23, the Mobile Training Team (MTT) of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB) carried out the 3rd week of the United Nations Military Observers Course.

From June 20 to 22, there was a Field Exercise in which the students could put the theoretical knowledge received throughout the course into practice, such as motorized patrols, checkpoints, negotiation, first aid to injured people and mine handling. Besides, they had the opportunity to carry out activities inside a team site, such as: operations, radio communication, distribution and briefing of patrols, etc.

On June 23, there was the closing ceremony, which was carried out by the International Missions and Integral Action School (ESMAI, acronym in Spanish). The Brazilian Defense and Army Attaché in Colombia, Colonel EUSTÁQUIO ALVES DA COSTA NETO, and Colombian military authorities, representing the Military Education Center (CEMIL, acronym in Spanish) and ESMAI, came to the event.

Twenty-three Colombian Officers (twenty-one from the Army and 2 from the Air Force) concluded the course. Each student received a Certificate of Completion, signed by CCOPAB Commander, and the related badges. CCOPAB’s instructors were granted the ESMAI’s Instructor Badge for the work developed during the course.
