Eastern Military Commander visits CCOPAB
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - On July 16, 2015, Eastern Military Commander, General Fernando Azevedo e Silva, visited the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB). The purpose of the visit was to know the work developed by the Center.
The Army First Division Commander, Lieutenant General Luiz Eduardo Ramos Baptista, the Airborne Brigade Commander, Major General William Georges Felippe Abrahão and the 9th Motorized Infantry Brigade (School) Commander, Major General Jorge Antônio Smicelato, accompanied the visit.
The generals were welcomed by the Center Commander, Colonel José Ricardo Vendramin Nunes, who presented his officers and gave an institutional lecture. During which, he addressed a brief background of CCOPAB's creation, its mission, subordination, organization and teaching/learning methodology. The commander also mentioned the assessment and accreditation process of the UN Pre-Deployment Advanced Field Exercise; the present phase of the consolidation of the Peace Operations Doctrine; and the action of the Mobile Training Teams. Afterwards, they visited the center's facilities.
