CCOPAB carries out the Subunit Commanders and Platoon Leaders Course for CONTBRAS 22

Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - From 02 to 13 February, CCOPAB carried out the Subunit Commanders and Platoon Leaders Course (EPCOSUPEL, acronym in Portuguese) for CONTBRAS 22 to be deployed in the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti.The aim of this course is to enable captains and lieutenants to carry their tasks out as Subunit commanders and Platoon leaders of the Brazilian Battalion (BRABAT), the Brazilian Engineering Company (BRAENGCOY) and the Brazilian Marine Corps (BRAMAR).
Lasting for two weeks, the course tackled UN CPTM related issues (theory) as well as tactics, techniques and procedures to be used in Haiti (practice) such as combat shooting, use of non-lethal weapons, combat techniques in urban environment, first-aid, and several other activities.
As to the Brazilian Air Force first lieutenant, Fernando Braga Ferrão Galante, BRABAT 22 Platoon leader, the course contributed to the standardization of the actions and of the troop preparation as a whole, regardlessly of uniform type.Still, the course served as an opportunity to exchange experience and strengthen the relations between the Brazilian Military.
Twelve troops from the Navy, forty-four from the Army and two from the Air Force completed the course.
