CCOPAB sends its first Mobile Training Team (MTT) to Angola

Luanda (ANGOLA). Luanda (ANGOLA).The Ministry of Defense and the Brazilian Navy supported the Brazilian Army in a pioneer project of international relevance - they put into practice the first Mobile Training Team (MTT) of the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB), deploying it in Luanda, Angola, with the purpose of giving the Introductory Course on Mine Action in UN Peace Operations.Due to bilateral agreements, a group of military instructors from the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (05 from the Brazilian Army and 01 from the Navy), under the reponsibility of Lt Col Infantry Luiz Fabiano Mafra NEGREIROS, was welcomed on 04 December by the Military Attaché (Col Artillery GERSON de Moura Freitas - representative of the Defense, Navy, Army and Air Force of Brazil) in Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe.
Within the period of 08 to 12 December, the team trained 22 Angolan students (military, police and civilians) at the National Institute of Demining (INAD, acronym in Portguese), which is located in the surroundings of Luanda.The Introductory Course on Mine Action in UN Peace Operations intends to contribute to the formation of Angolan Human Resources in the field of Peace Operations and Humanitarian Demining.
