CCOPAB carries out the Course on Logistics and Reimbursement in PKOs

VILA MILITAR, RJ –Lasting for two weeks – from 25 August to 5 September – and having 11 soldiers from the Navy, 29 from the Army and 02 from the Air Force, totaling 42 students, the 2014 second edition of the Course on Logistics and Reimbursement in PKOs was carried out by the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Center (CCOPAB).
The course has the purpose to qualify military personnel to manage logistics and personnel in peace operations.
To Major Dailo Gonçalves de Aquino Júnior, from the Air Force Preparatory School, the exchange of experience among the Forces was the main feature of this course:
- The opportunity to better know the work of military personnel who deal with logistics in the Navy and in the Army was very important; it was also important to convey our experience during the visits carried out at the Air Force units – stated Major Dailo.
The integration among Forces was one of the aspects highlighted by WO William Ribamar Velozo, from the Marines Corps Personnel Command:
- Undoubtedly, this integration is essential for the good development of our work in a mission abroad. In addition to that, knowing CCOPAB and the work it carries out opened my mind in relation to the role of our country in peace missions.
The course offered theoretical classes at the facilities of CCOPAB and visits to several military units in the context of logistics in peace operations such as the Surface Force Command, the Air Force Logistical Transportation Center and the 1st Supply Warehouse, among others.
At the closing ceremony, the commander of CCOPAB, Colonel José Ricardo Vendramin Nunes remarked on the importance of this course in the process of personnel qualification, allowing Brazil to reach one of the highest indices of reimbursements among TCCs in UN peace missions.
