Journalist in Conflict Areas Course’s Opening - 2014
The first Journalist in Conflict Areas Course in 2014 started this Monday afternoon at the Brazilian Peace Operations Joint Training Course (CCOPAB).
The opening of the course was held by Major General Otávio Santana do Rêgo Barros who spoke to an audience of 30 journalists from different types of media from several regions of Brazil.
Colonel José Ricardo Nunes Vendramin, CCOPAB Commander, began the afternoon by clarifying aspects of the course in relation to the students' expectations. He stated that the objective of the course is to prepare journalists for press coverage in conflict areas in which the UN is present. He added that an adaptation, on the part of the students, to the internal situation of the country is possible.
